Let Bylines be Bylines

The best byline of the weekend came from AFP in Baghdad

"Saddam executed at break of dawn
EXIT THE BUTCHER
: Many people around the world celebrated as the former Iraqi dictator was taken to a torture room used while he was in power -- then hanged"

It seems being in Baghdad proper gives one a little more clarity that is normally found in the newsrooms of American media.

But not for all.  Iraqi National Security Adviser Mowaffaq al-Rubaie commented that:

"One thing I can't explain, I have never seen any repentance, never seen any remorse there.  When you reach the stage when that's it, that's the end, I think you tend to be right and honest with yourself and confess something.  But he was praising the mujahidin, he was praising the jihadis ... he was cursing the Persians and he was cursing the West ghdadas well."

Even when surrounded by evil, some people just can not see it.
